Trap Ranger for GvG, what secondary?
I'm looking at a build that takes a QZ ranger and modifies it a bit so that it still uses your standard Quickening Zepher and Nature's Renewal but lay's down traps in the meantime. Pretty much exactly like the "Trappah" featured in the Guild of the week for The Pirates of BBQ Bay.
What I'm a tad unsure of is the secondary profession for such a build. I think since the skill allocation should end up almost all in ranger skills anyway, does the secondary even matter? Thanks for your time! |

Given what Traps usually cause, a Mesmer secondary would be a good idea to cause Frag Spiking with your traps.

Since I'm a self-admitted newb, could you by chance clarify what frag spiking does is and how mesmer helps it?

considering the fragility nerf... a flare would be better off than putting points in the illusion just for fragility. Fragility is more like an accessory/luxury than a focus now...
For GvG, alot of mobility come into play... I suggest a combination of warrior tactic line, necro, and maybe monk to get a bit defensive... although I would suggest all out damage. If you can afford the attribute point, perhaps use beast mastery than your sub. If you do decide to take fragility, make sure to bring crystal wave too (to dmg heal them of conditions before they are healed with mend aliment and such).
